They say that some events in the history of the worlds are inevitable; that such things will always come to pass in any version of history that is even close to recognizable.
The creation of the group known as Organization XIII, and the existence of certain of its members, is thought to be one such event.
As Nobodies awakened in this age of Heartless, Unversed, and darkness, in this World of war, it is only natural that the Living Memories, those Nobodies retaining the most humanity, should gravitate together. Created of Thirteen Numbers and the other Living Memories beneath their command, with the Remnant Personalities beneath them, and Dusks and Creepers of the Lower Order below those, the Organization is more like an army in its own right than what its name would imply.
As Nobodies almost always awaken in the small in-between world known as Twilight Town, they have made their home there. It is a quiet place, despite its size, and the heartless Nobodies seem to draw some comfort from its yellow stone walls and the gorgeous sunsets that it is known for. They’ve made their base in an abandoned mansion, which appears to sit above an extensive underground complex, the origins of which are unknown.
…”They”. It makes sense, that I should be writing this way. I suppose I am still in denial, if denial is even possible for those without hearts to deny with. I suppose we all are in denial.
We are the Nobodies; we are the Organization. Living Memories of people who do not exist. We are known as the Third Wheel, the Spanner in the Works; we fight for neither side, instead allying in turns with one or the other to ensure that we gain the prize in the end. We have no issue with this; only those with feelings can regret their actions. We have no consciences, we have thrown away our morals in pursuit of the greater goal of our hearts.
Yet there are some who say that it could have been worse. If the Superior had been another man, a less honorable man in life, there is no telling what may have been, what we may have done. My friend has visions of an alternate future where Kingdom Hearts is in our grasp, but only at the expense of countless worlds, lives, and other immeasurable damages. If he had a heart, these dreams would have terrified him; now, he merely considers them a warning.
We are not moral, but neither have we stooped to the evil the Darksiders relish in.
We are neither light nor dark, human nor Heartless, alive nor dead.
We are the Organization XIII.

Nobodies identify each other by category, based on how much humanity they retained after losing their hearts. Those categories are listed below:
Ranking Number – The thirteen leaders of the Organization, they are technically Living Memories, but hold more power and status than the rest. Each holds a title based on their specific Talent and a number based on when they joined the growing Organization. All Ranking Numbers have cast aside their previous names and taken an ‘X’ as a symbol of brotherhood, X being the universal symbol for nothingness.
Living Memory – Those Nobodies who retained almost all of their humanity, Living Memories as a rule hold both human appearance and memories of both emotion and their past lives. A few Living Memories have given up memory of either human emotion or their human lives – very, very few have lost memory completely, as those whose connections to life are tenuous enough to lose all recollection are much more likely to become Remnant Personalities. Most, if not all, have some form of special elemental affinity or talent. Some of these have given up their names, though few have taken the 'X'. Those who cannot remember their original names are named by the Organization, or choose their own names.
Remnant Personality – Those Nobodies who have held on to only a part of their humanity. While vaguely humanoid, they have lost their appearances and almost all memory of humanity. The memory they retain takes the form of a specialization that makes them elite among Nobodies; while not as powerful as Living Memoris, Remnant Personalities have incredible skills they retained from their lifetime professions. This category includes such Nobodies as Dancers, Samurai, Berserkers, Dragoons, etc.
Lower Order – The most numerous kind of Nobody by far, Lower Orders come in two forms – Dusks and Creepers. These Nobodies have lost 90% of human form and retain only the faintest hint of personality or self-awareness.

((Hey guys, lemme know if this is overstepping my bounds. I decided we needed a liiiittle more info on the Org. so I stepped in and provided. Where the games don't cover, or our alternate timeline requires, I've embellished a bit.))
